Sail
in Suffolk with SeaTrain Sailing
![]() ![]() SeaTrain
has its sailing base at Orford on the River Ore/AIde. Orford itself
is a delightful unspoiled location and was a port in Roman times. Among
its attractions are a mediaeval church, a Henry II castle and three
excellent pubs. The Ore is a treasure and allows great sailing in any
weather. It also has quiet anchorages, fantastic bird life and a thought
provoking entrance.
Suffolk
has much to offer the sailor; its delightful rivers, the busy ports
of Felixstowe and Harwich and the proximity of the Belgian and Dutch
coast give SeaTrain some of the finest and most enjoyable training waters
in Europe.
The
peaceful anchorages and local ales beckon on every hand, but it is the
sandbanks and the tides, the shipping lanes and the seamarkers that
help cram a SeaTrain course with relevant experience. The sheltered
waters of the Suffolk and Essex rivers and backwaters guarantee interesting
and safe sailing in virtually all weather conditions.
